Taylor Bowen Ricketts was born in Oxford, Mississippi and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting. After graduation she stayed in Oxford to help friends open several restaurants in town including City Grocery as well as The Harvest Café, and The Bottletree Bakery.
Taylor and her husband, Darby, partnered with friends to open several iconic Oxford restaurants. They opened Proud Larry’s, Yocana River Inn, and Jubilee. Taylor sees the culinary arts as another medium and creative outlet, like painting. She continues to immerse herself in both mediums, and her artwork is as much sought-after as her food.
Bowen Ricketts and her family moved to Greenwood, Mississippi
and became the proprietors of Delta Fresh Market. Her newest role will be chef de cuisine at Delta Bistro. The menu reflects her creativity, and she paints each item with flavor as well as color. Taylor has supplemented her kitchen experience with classes from the Culinary Institute of America – Greystone. |
